From 25 to 27 October 2024, first-year students from the Bordeaux campus took up a major challenge by taking part in the famous audiovisual creation competition, the 48 Hour Film Project. Driven by boundless energy and exemplary motivation, they formed a team under the name CineCreateam, determined to give their all in this creative marathon.
An intense experience and daring constraints
During these 48 hours, CineCreateam imagined, wrote, shot and edited a short film respecting three constraints imposed by the competition: integrating a tattooist character, an element as unexpected as a salad, and including the phrase “C’est gavé bon” in their dialogue. These constraints, both demanding and original, stimulated their creativity and gave rise to scripts that were as inventive as they were realistic.
A double reward
After weeks of waiting, 07 December 2024 marked the culmination of their adventure with the screening of the films in competition and the assessment of the works by a jury of professionals. CineCreateam’s talent and ingenuity were rewarded with two major distinctions: a nomination for Best Screenplay and the Audience Award, reflecting the general enthusiasm generated by their creation.
A springboard for the future
This experience enabled the first-year students to put their fledgling theoretical skills into practice, while reinforcing their team spirit and their ability to manage the stress of a project with limited time. Their participation in the 48 Hour Film Project is not only a great showcase for the talent of the Bordeaux students, but also a valuable springboard for their future careers in the audiovisual industry.
Well done to CineCreateam for this outstanding and inspiring performance, which brilliantly illustrates the potential of the new generation of creative professionals!
